Forge Updates — Autumn 2026

Hi there,

Now that autumn has finally kicked into gear, it’s time for another update from the Forge.

There’s been plenty happening in the workshop, a couple of opportunities to get involved in product testing, and some exciting changes to the World Tour

What’s happening in the workshop?

Triumph Footrest Rubbers — Winter Testers Wanted

Triumph replacement footrest rubber fitted to the bike

The replacement Triumph footrest rubbers have completed their initial testing programme and are available to buy, with performance at least matching the original OEM parts. I’ve recently covered around 500 miles on my own bike with them fitted. They’ve performed brilliantly and still look as good as the day I fitted them.

Even with such encouraging results, there’s always room to explore further improvements. I’m looking for two riders to put the latest revision through its paces over winter, particularly in cold and wet conditions. Your feedback could help shape future revisions.

Luggage Refresh Kit – Testers wanted

Triumph Tiger 885i and 955i Luggage Refresh Kit components

I’m also looking for two riders with a Triumph Tiger 885i or 955i to put the Luggage Refresh Kit through its paces. The kit is already available to buy and is designed to replace worn luggage mounting components, helping to keep the original luggage system working as it should.

I’m particularly interested in hearing from riders who regularly use their top box and panniers.

Fancy getting involved?

I’m looking for riders who can put these parts to regular use and provide honest feedback on fit, performance and durability. If either project interests you, please complete the Product Testing Application form, link below.

Test parts are supplied free of charge, with UK postage included. International testers are welcome, although they’ll need to cover postage and any customs charges that may apply.

Triumph Switch Cube Joystick — Development Update

Triumph Switch Cube Joystick prototype

Another project I’ve been working on is a replacement joystick component for the Triumph Tiger switch cube. The idea is to create a sacrificial upper section that’s designed to break under excessive force, protecting the more difficult-to-replace internal joystick mechanism.

If it gets damaged, the upper section can simply be replaced rather than having to repair or replace the entire switch assembly. It’s still in development, but I’m hoping this approach will offer a practical, affordable and easily repairable solution.

Another pin on the TFD World Tour

Stephen R’s Royal Enfield in Worksop with a Tiger Forge Designs sticker

We’ve had another addition to the TFD World Tour map! Stephen R from Worksop has sent in a photo of his Royal Enfield, along with the message: “Pride of place on my Royal Enfield bike.”

Thanks, Stephen! It’s great to see another bike joining the map. Remember, you don’t need to be halfway around the world to take part. Whether it’s a favourite local spot, a weekend ride or somewhere further afield, I’d love to see where TFD ends up.

World Tour — Bigger Prizes, More Time to Enter!

I’m making a few changes to the World Tour competitions. Rather than four seasonal awards each year, we’re moving to two — Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter. That gives everyone six months to take part and means more entries to choose from.

With fewer competitions, I can offer a bigger prize too! Starting with the next Autumn/Winter competition, the prize increases to £50 in TFD store credit!

But first, there’s still time to enter our current Spring/Summer competition, with £25 in TFD store credit up for grabs, plus a permanent gold pin on the World Tour map. Entries close Sunday 25 October at 11:59 pm (UK time).

The winner will be selected by TFD and an independent judge, based on location, creativity and overall interest. I’ll announce the winner in a special edition of Forge Updates on Thursday 29 October.

Already submitted a photo? You’re included, so there’s no need to enter again!

Stick it. Snap it. Submit it.

What’s On Your winter Job List?

Are you keeping the bike on the road through winter, or is it time to tackle some of those jobs you’ve been putting off?

If you’re planning to lay your bike up for the colder months, I’ve recently written a Forge Notes article, An Easier Spring Starts with a Little Autumn Care, with a few tips on preparing your bike for winter.

And if you’re working on something interesting, or struggling to find a discontinued part, feel free to reply and tell me about it. I’m always interested to hear what people are working on.

Thanks again for following along and supporting Tiger Forge Designs.

Ride safe,

Simon
